How to Track Adsense Invalid Clicks using StatCounter in Blogger

Google Adsense is one of the most popular and trustworthy way to monetize your website. But since you're online a lot can go wrong, which is seamlessly beyond your control even with Google Adsense. One of these is Invalid Click activity. Invalid click activity could be the most daunting experience for a Publisher, it could end up getting you banned from Adsense. What is Invalid Clicks Activity?

An invalid click consists of any click that may affect directly or indirectly to the advertiser. In other words, publishers encouraging users to click on ads, automatic clicking, fake traffic bots, or any non ethical techniques used to drive more clicks is considered as an invalid click activity.

However, many times your competitors can perform an invalid click activity just to hurt you financially because for some publishers Adsense is the only hope for some revenue. In order to be on a safe side, it is important to track invalid clicks.

How to Track AdSense Invalid Clicks in Blogger:

To track invalid clicks we will be using an online user monitoring software Statecounter.com which is 100% free to use.

In case you are not aware of Statecounter we would recommend you to first learn  read our previously written tutorial how to install Statcounter in Blogger and create a free account.

Once you have completely setup a account, login to your account and go to the statistics of your website by clicking on the project title. For example, in the screenshot below "MBL" is the project title so we will click on it to access the website statistics.

Now on the left you will see a list of options which can help you track various aspects of your website. However, to track Adsense invalid clicks select "Exit Link Activity" and all those links will appear that your user clicked to leave your website. You can also get exact information about the date and time of clicks activity and moreover you can also track the counts of clicks made on a particulate Adsense ad unit. 

On find anything suspicious about the click activity, you can get even more information about that visitor just select the "magnify icon" beside the date. This will show you the IP Address, Location, Browser, OS, etc useful information about the user who clicked the advertisement.

If you see a sudden increase in the clicks but the earning and CPC is too low and all clicks are coming from same IP Address, its time to either block that user IP Address or remove the Ads for few days to project yourself from facing a ban from Adsense or any advertising company.
